I've been trying Scentuelle for three
weeks and, quite frankly, the poor
man is exhausted!
The female libido patch will go down in history as one of
the great British inventions. In fact, the sex drive enhancer patch took the British
Invention Show by storm, and since its launch in May 2005 has sold over 200,000
units.
Imagine a Non-Transdermal (does not enter the blood stream)
patch with no side effects with the capability of instantaneously increasing a
woman's sex drive? Is it fact or fiction, you decide. Here are the facts:
- 1 in 3 women suffer from a reduced sex drive.
Many women experience a lack of desire at some point during their lives; whether
it’s caused by external factors such as stress and fatigue, or by physical
changes, like the menopause.
- Other so called libido enhancers involve pills or some sort of medication.
This works by using the sense of smell alone (so no nasty side effects!)
- Independent trials conducted by female journalists in the Times, Independent,
Mirror and Daily Mail prove the patch is an outstanding success.
- We smell with our brains. It’s true. Our nose merely acts as a vehicle for
channelling the odours to the right place. This is to the ‘smell receptors’
located on the edge of our brains at the top of the nose. These receptors go
straight into our ‘limbic system’ - the part of the brain that deals with
feelings of happiness and pleasure (including our sex drive). So, in effect, our
nose gives us a direct route into our ‘pleasure centre’.

When you fall in love, it can be like an addiction,
say scientists, because the chemical dopamine
triggers a 'high'. Scentuelle, an aromatic patch
worn on the wrist, is said to mimic the effects of
dopamine by releasing a scent which promotes the
production of the hormone in a woman's body.
But does it work?
FEMAIL asked four writers to test it . . . Rachel Royce, 42, is separated
from writer Rod Liddle and lives with their two
children, aged five and seven, in Heytesbury,
Wiltshire. She has a boyfriend of three months,
David, a TV producer. She says: My boyfriend is
resting upstairs. He has a headache, or so he says.
I've been trying Scentuelle for three weeks and,
quite frankly, the poor man is exhausted.

Statistics quoted in a study from the American
Medical Association in 1999 suggested that up to
35 per cent of women had a low libido.
The prevalence of sexual dysfunction in women is
disputed but to judge from my experience...
there is no doubt that some women are troubled
by a lack of sexual interest, let alone desire.
But just as dopamine is produced by the patient
and acts on her own system, when a woman sniffs
the impregnated Scentuelle patch on her wrist
she is likewise helping to stimulate her sex drive.
It is said that the patch begins to work from the
first sniff but that the effect is cumulative,
reaching optimum level only after two weeks.
The patch, which is almost invisible, should
be sniffed every hour.
